Highland coos and garden visitors

Visitors to Scotland can't seem to get enough of Highland Cows! Luckily enough, two reside in the fields just up the hill from the cottage.  Aside from this, deer and badgers are frequently spotted from the cottage and the garden is full of rabbits!

Sea life

Minke whale sightings are known to occur in the Sound of Jura between May and October but are more common from July to September. Take a boat trip from the marina and there is a good chance you could spot some porpoises. Seals are also in abundance, visible from at sea and ashore.

Birds

The area is bursting with birdlife! Sit on the balcony or the decking downstairs and you will see a wealth of garden birds, but birds of prey are also common. Buzzards in particular are always sighted, but Sea and Golden Eagles are also known to frequent the area. Binoculars are a must!
